Arthur R. Jones, 80, died Aug. 26, 2012.

He was born in New Haven, Conn., and lived in Sebastian.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve, 1950 to 1954.

He retired from Martin Marietta in Orlando.

He was a Boy Scout and was awarded the achievement of Eagle Scout at age 14.

He graduated from West Haven High School and attended college at Rhode Island School of Design.

His worked at Raytheon and used his engineering skills in support of the Hawk and Sparrow missile programs.

He worked for other manufacturing businesses, including ITT Corp. for 13 years in senior engineering management and director roles.

He was of Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Jones, of Sebastian; sons, Curtis and Arthur "Scott"; daughters, Sherri, Kathy and Beth Anne; brothers, Gerald Jones and Ronald Jones; 10 grandchildren: and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 1 at Seawinds Funeral Home, with the funeral at 2 p.m.
