Dog killed in structure fire near Gifford Middle School

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – Around 11 a.m. Indian River County Rescue responded to a single story structure fire at 2726 47th Pl. in Gifford with visible flames.

Upon entering the residents firefighters discovered one dog that was crated that had died in the blaze.

The fire was brought under control in less than 15 minutes.

No one was injured in the blaze.

One dog, that was crated in the backyard, appeared to sustain no injuries.
