Sebastian art club to open ‘gallery’ at old city hall

SEBASTIAN – The Sebastian River Art Club will be allowed to open an exhibition gallery at the old city hall complex on Main Street, the Sebastian City Council unanimously decided.

The club had sought extra space to create what it calls a community arts center, a place for art classes and art exhibits.

Taxes could go up for some after School Board approves budget

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – Homeowners could be paying a bit more in taxes to the Indian River County School District after the School Board approved its new rate.

The board approved increasing its property tax rate – known as millage – from last year in an effort to collect approximately the same amount in taxes.

UPDATE: Vero Lake Estates shooting may have been drug related

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The man authorities believe shot and killed another in Vero Lake Estates this week has admitted to pulling the trigger, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office also released an arrest affidavit for the man, in which there are claims by a witness that the victim had gone to the home to buy marijuana.
